SmartSpend is a personal finance manager that helps users track income, expenses, borrowings, and receivables.

SmartSpend does NOT collect, store, or share any personal information such as:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Contact list

  • Location

  • Photos, media, or files (except exported files you choose to save)

We do not require account creation or login.

3. Financial Data (Local Storage Only)

The financial data you enter in the app (income, expenses, borrowings, receivables, categories, insights) is:

  • Stored only on your device

  • Never uploaded to any server

  • Fully under your control

You can delete the app at any time to remove all local data.

4. Backup & Restore

The app allows exporting and importing backups (JSON or CSV).

  • Backups are saved only to your device storage (such as Downloads/SmartSpendBackups)

  • You may choose a folder using Android’s built-in file picker

  • The app never uploads backups to any server

You are responsible for safeguarding exported files.

5. Analytics & Ads

5.1 Google AdMob

The free version of SmartSpend shows banner ads using Google AdMob.

AdMob may collect:

  • Device identifiers

  • Ad performance data

  • Crash logs

  • Approx. location

This data is collected by Google, not by us.

5.2. No Personalized Ads (Optional)

We do not require personalized ads.
Users can disable personalized ads through their Google account.

6. Permissions Used

6.1. Storage Access (Optional)

Used only for:

  • Saving PDF/CSV exports

  • Saving local backups

  • Importing backups

We do not access or scan any other files.

6.2. Internet

Used only for:

  • Loading ads

  • Checking billing purchases (when premium is added)

7. Third-Party Services

SmartSpend may use:

  • Google AdMob (ads)

These services may collect data independently.
We do not control or store this data.

8. Children’s Privacy

SmartSpend is not directed to children under age 13.
We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Data Security

Your financial data is stored locally in an encrypted Room database by Android.
We do not transmit your data online.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
